As Christmas approaches I am reminded of the years that I grew up with my parents owning a restaurant, hotel and bakery. The front door did not have a lock on it and some people lived in the hotel as their home.
Who would have guessed that 20 months ago when we first encountered covid that we would not only still be dealing with it, but now a new strain has been detected and we do not know what is going to happen.
There are growing numbers of people coming back to church on the weekends. There are also a lot of folks who are now going without masks. I would like to remind you that some of our sisters, brothers and families are still wearing masks for various reasons.
When Commitment to Parish Life began many years ago the company trying to pitch the program to us tried to explain how we needed to pitch people investing with time, talent and treasure in the community.
Over the years my family has moved further and further apart. As a child we all tended to live pretty close together and we tried to get together as often as possible for celebrate summer or special days.
