A recent study asked people if they would rather receive gifts or give gifts at Christmas time? Overwhelmingly people responded that they would rather give gifts. That becomes very visible when we see how many gifts are carefully placed under the tree. God does not always gift wrap His presents to us but opens our eyes to see the wonders of creation, the care of those who love us, the smells, tastes, and touches that we experience every day. When we open a present we always say “Thank you” to the giver. How do you say “Thank you” to God? We do so by sharing the gifts and talents God has given to us with those we love and who love us. This parish reflects that in the generosity you show towards others. Thank you for your great witness of your faith in action. Beyond talent and time, do you also share appropriately with the parish and God of the money you receive? Commitment to Parish Life is our way in this parish of being the Light of Christ to others. We depend upon your generosity in giving to the parish to do the ministries we provide to parishioners and guests alike. If God has been generous to you, are you as generous towards God in your giving this Christmas?
