There is a new author that I am reading, Sr. Ilia Delio, a Franciscan from Washington, D.C. She gives great insight into the new understanding of cosmology. Moving from a flat earth understanding to one where the earth is just one orb spinning through space along with millions of other planets and sun, our understanding of God and Jesus Christ has undergone a radical change. It is fascinating to read how she posits the concept that the closer we draw to God in our relationship, the closer we draw to one another. We discover we are in this together, helping one another on our journey to the Kingdom. She speaks of great thinkers before Aristotle and Plato. She speaks of thinkers from around the world who are not Christian. She uses ideas and quotes from Catholic Saints that I have never heard of from hundreds of years ago. Amazing. It seems to me that what she addresses as new thinking applies to our CPL. The more we engage one another in our church practices the more we draw together and support one another. If you look at all of the things we do at St. Joseph the Worker to engage people you will find ample opportunity to unite with sisters and brothers from all over the world. What a wonderful opportunity to become One With others from our parish. Your investment of time and finances helps make us one in the Lord.
