Commitment to Parish Life begins with us.

We spend a lot more time with close friends then we do with acquaintances. We do that because we know them better and they know us better.  We have shared special moments with them so we like being around them more because they know us and love us.  Even with our faults.  The reality is that we spend this time with another person because they affirm us and we know they love us.  Now when we apply that to God, it works much the same way.  The more we share with God the more we realize God still loves us.  Nothing we can do or say separates us from God’s love.  So our commitment to the parish starts with out commitment to God.  That is the root of our Commitment to Parish Life.  With covid being around a while I hope that you have used the extra time to spend a few moments with God.   Tell him your feelings, your thoughts, your hopes, your dreams and even your anger.  God has heard it all before and accepts those things because he loves us unconditionally.  Your commitment to the parish should be rooted in your commitment to God.  He has already made a commitment to you.
