Once again the people from St. Joseph the Worker were active in building the Habitat for Humanity house in Minneapolis. The people from our parish have always taken this time of summer to work on creating a house for a family. When constructing the house we are aware that for many families it is necessary for them to have a house that they can now make into a home by living with their family in something that they can call their own. So too our faith community has become a home to so many people from all over the Twin Cities. Our parishioners have reached out to welcome young families, retired folks moving into Maple Grove, hurting families, couples looking to get married. You have opened your arms to people and made the church truly about people, not a building. Commitment to Parish Life becomes alive when we reach out to other people, bringing them to our table, and making the House of God a Home for everyone. In most cases you have done this without realizing you are putting into practice the core commitment of the Gospel. When that happens you know it is because the Gospel has taken root in our lives. Thank you for being Christ to others. Fr. Mike
