CPL in Action

Over the past few months in this space I have written about money.  I don’t want you to think that is all that matters.  This morning I had the opportunity to celebrate Mass with some of our high school youth who are participating in Christ Power.  It was so encouraging to see so many of the faces of our youth who regularly participate at Sunday Masses.  It was also encouraging to hear them respond to prayers and homily.  They were leaders among the youth who were there.  That is because of your commitment as parents.  Frequently during the summer the number of people attending Masses on the weekends is down–– for various reasons.  And while that is true, our numbers are down less that neighboring parishes.  I would like to think that it is because you have made such a profound commitment to the parish.  CPL is about commitment and then the carrying out of that commitment.  As parents and family you have given great witness without even knowing it.  By keeping your children involved they are now spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ in North Minneapolis.  Great work!  Keep it up.  Fr.
