When our family used to gather for Thanksgiving each member of the family would bring something. Some would bring paper products. Others might bring food to clean and cook. Yet others would bring the turkey, stuffing, and make the gravy. We all pitched in and things went quite well. When I think about St. Joseph the Worker I see our Commitment to Parish Life in much that same way. Folks who are shut-ins are praying all day long. They are fulfilling the call of Jesus to “pray always!” There are many extremely talented people who contribute their time and work with our youth in Faith Formation, VBS, Summer Stretch and Christ Power. Still others assist as serve families who are grieving during the time of funerals. And of course many serve in our worship services so we provide a vibrant, meaningful liturgy. That is the real backbone of our parish. The life blood that flows through all of this and makes it possible is the financial contribution we all provide. We work to provide all of these ministries so they remain great and serve the needs of parishioners. Have you made your commitment to CPL yet?
