This is Valentine’s week. A time to say to those we love that they are special in our eyes. I want to say to each of you that you are my family in Minnesota. (Almost all of them have moved to warmer climates.) I love you and am delighted you have chosen to become part of the family at St. Joseph the Worker. I take great delight in your children being at Mass. Their noise reminds me that we are indeed a family. They draw pictures for me to hang on our refrigerator. They give me “bumps” or a high-five. They even extend hugs, which make my day. Thank you for being you. Your participation in our many ministries makes them all successful and attractive for others to participate. And thank you for providing the financial resources necessary for these ministries to thrive. That is the basis of our Commitment to Parish Life. When everyone does a little, no one has to do a lot. You make St. Joe’s the inviting and welcoming parish that it is so visitors and new members feel welcomed.
