Dear Billionaires and Millionaires,You certainly have seen or heard about the terrible destruction of much of the wooden structure of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. This tragedy is viewed all over the world by Catholics who mourn the terrible loss of such a historical structure. It seems ironic that they had a capital campaign to raise $16M to repair the building. They only raised $5.5M in their campaign but went ahead anyway. But because of the fire the billionaires and millionaires in France have now pledged nearly $1B towards the restoration. Here we are as a small church in comparison to them and we are just trying to pay our bills. Easter is a great time to give back to God and the parish by making an extra effort to give more. As I have told you before I give $100 per week to the parish in gratitude to God for letting me serve you and this parish. If I give 10% more this weekend and each week thereafter, might you be willing to give a bit more in your regular contribution? It is somewhat embarrassing for me to tell my brother priests that I am in the top 10% in giving to our parish with my $45,000 salary. We know we have some major expenses coming up soon. Most recent, our parking lot snow removal expense for this winter was $12,000 over budget. Our reserve funds are getting to the dangerous point of being terribly underfunded. Can you help? Will you show your gratitude to God for His generosity to you?
Fr. Mike
