As a small child one of my favorite books was “The Little Engine Who Could”. He could pull the train to the top of the hill. That seems appropriate as I reflect upon your great response to my call for increased donations to the parish. If you have been watching you have seen that we did a much better job of giving for Easter and the following Sunday. That series of donations has helped us get into the black. The giving has to be sustained however. As you know from your own personal experience the cost of everything has gone up. You have taught your children well, as was visible from the huge number who wanted to do something at our closing Mass for Faith Formation the other Wednesday. It is also reflected in your high school student’s participation in our “OneWith” program during the year. Your children are giving a lot of themselves in time and effort to grow in their relationship with Jesus. Thank you for your witness to them, and to the entire faith community.
