The other day a study was released showing which age group felt the most alone. Surprising to me was that the age group was 15-25. It seems that they are the folks who are constantly on social media. What St. Joseph offers to young people of today is the opportunity to make friends and make a difference in the world around us. Food for families that will not have enough to eat at Thanksgiving time are being assembled and readied for distribution. We will deliver 40 baskets of food. Families come together to assemble the food. Other families come together to deliver the food. Many more families drop off cans, boxes, and frozen foods. It is a powerful time to bond together, make new friends or deepen relationships with others, and come to know Christ. That is what making a commitment to the parish a powerful experience where I give of myself. By doing that others give back to me, and the sense of family, friendship and making a difference in the world around me, makes a huge impact on me and the way I see myself. Have you made a commitment to St. Joseph the Worker? Can you see the ministries you participate in? Do you see the effect your active participation makes in the lives of others? That is Commitment to Parish Life at work. It make a difference because you make the difference. You gift of time and money makes a difference in this parish.
