When I was growing up in our house when you stood up from the table after supper everyone grabbed their plate, silverware and glass and took it to the kitchen. The dishwasher at that time was the children who were to wash and dry that week. We all pitched in and it went faster if we each did a little bit. That is so true of a parish like St. Joseph the Worker. We have so many ministries within the parish they cannot all be listed on one page. They seem to thrive because each person and family involved in the ministry of their choice does a little bit. With everyone sharing the work load things go faster and we build community. We develop a sense of family when we all give a bit. So our liturgies are vibrant. Our education is one where kids love to attend, parents feel good about teaching, and parents delight when their children “want” to go to formation classes. Family and friends who attend our funerals are amazed that we do not charge for this ministry. Funeral homes tell us that we are the only parish that does this for free. It happens because of the family identity we have established at St. Joe’s. How do you share your time and talents with our parish? We want you to be an active, contributing member of our faith family.
