Ten years ago the parish began to use the concept of Commitment to Parish Life (CPL) as our primary method for parish involvement. We moved to the idea of people giving of their time and talent to enable our multiple ministries to thrive. As you have endorsed this approach our ministries have grown considerably. One of the things that happened with CPL is that we also stopped putting envelopes in our packets for many of the special collection done nationally. Instead we have been giving a percentage based upon our giving history. In the coming weeks there are an exceptionally large number of these opportunities to give to many different needs. The second collections we have kept are now to assist in the ministries that originate within the parish. For example our Caring and Sharing Hands Fund and our Haiti Collection will support these ministries for the parish. I encourage you to sign up for CPL within the parish. It is easy to do online. If you choose to give electronically it will also reduce the number of envelopes you receive for a month. Becoming a member of CPL makes it easier for you to support the parish, these second collections, and helps the parish to manage our budget. Fr. Mike
