Have you ever heard a reading at Mass and wondered what it was all about?
If it is challenging for adults, it is can definitely be hard for our young people to understand.
Children's Liturgy of the Word gives children in grades 1-4 an opportunity to gather with an adult or teen leaders to have the Word of God read and broken open to help them understand the readings and their meanings.
We are starting our Children's Liturgy of the Word program back up at the 8:30 and 10:30 am Masses.
We need teens or adults who would be willing to break open the word for our young people (teens can pair up as a team!). After the opening prayers, the young people go to music room with their leaders. Together the readings are read and discussed on a level that makes sense to young people.
All materials are provided to you with the readings and ideas for discussions. The children return to the worship space after the prayers of the faithful for the rest of Mass. The time commitment is once a month for about 20-25 minutes during Mass.
If you want to know more how you could help our young people by becoming a Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) leader, contact Tarri (763-400-7205), or sign up at the information desk.
