Serenity 11th Step Retreat for Men & Women; October 4-6, 2024, presented by Fr. Bill Sheehan, OMI
Step 11: “Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.”
One of the underlying principles of 12-Step programs is that nothing happens by mistake. Members are encouraged to recognize their Higher Power, to listen to that Higher Power, and allow their self to be inspired by this Higher Power in their journey of recovery. This is achieved through prayer and meditation. Fr. Bill Sheehan, OMI, will offer retreatants the practice of centering prayer as an expression of the 11th Step. He will present what he describes as the Welcoming Prayer Practice which is a way of dealing with afflictive emotions and discuss Bill W’s letter regarding Emotional Sobriety. If time permits, he will offer tips on the practice of forgiveness. Per person: $50 deposit at registration and Suggested Donation of $250; includes 2 overnights, private accommodations and 5 meals; Register online at www.kingshouse.com or call 763-682-1394.
