Drive-through Stations of Cross
Continues thru Holy Week until dusk on Good Friday
(Please enter South entrance):
The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step Catholic devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ's last day on Earth. The 14 devotions, or stations, focus on specific events of His last day, beginning with His condemnation. The stations are commonly used as a mini pilgrimage as the individual moves from station to station. At each station, the individual recalls and meditates on a specific event from Christ's last day. Specific prayers are recited, then the individual moves to the next station until all 14 are complete.
The Stations of the Cross are commonly found in churches as a series of 14 small icons or images. At SJTW these images appear in the floor surrounding the church sanctuary space. However, since our church is closed during the Coronavirus pandemic, we have prepared a "drive thru" stations of the cross in our parking lot. If you enter from the south parking lot, you will see the stations illustrated on yard signs around the parameter of the lot. Drive up and pray the first station. When completed, drive to the 2nd station, and so on.
Be sure to download either the printed or audio stations of the cross below to assist in your prayer. We are offering a few variations for you. Or, feel free to use whatever resources you prefer.
