2026-2027 Faith Formation

Our Faith Formation classes serve children 3 years old through high school and offer the opportunity for our students to learn and grow in their faith. The early discount tuition rate is $120.00 per student. After June 15, Faith Formation tuition is $140.00 per student.  Please note, there are additional Sacrament fees (First Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation) and retreat fees for grades 9-11. SJTW offers discount rates for families registering more than 3 students. Scholarships are also available. Contact the Faith Formation office for more information – 763-425-9801. Registration deadline is Monday, August 24.

Faith Formation classes meet mid-September through April.

Sunday School Program 3 year olds-Kindergarten
Children must be 3 years old by September 1 and fully toilet trained to register for classes. Sunday School classes meet on Sunday mornings at 8:30 am or 10:30 am. Please visit our Sunday School webpage for more information. 
 
Elementary Program Grades 1-6

Option I: On-Site Faith Formation Classes
Students in grades 1–6 meet at St. Joseph the Worker in grade-level faith communities to grow in their relationship with God and deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith. Through the guidance of catechists, students engage in Scripture, prayer, liturgy, the Sacraments, Catholic teachings, videos, hands-on activities, and meaningful classroom discussions.

Students in grades 1–5 use Finding God by Loyola Press, a curriculum that helps children recognize God’s presence in their everyday lives and grow as disciples of Jesus.

On-site 6th grade students use Encounter: The Bible Timeline for Middle School by Ascension Press, which helps students understand the story of salvation history and how Scripture connects to their own faith journey.

Class Time Options: 
Tuesdays 5:15–6:30 p.m.
Wednesdays 5:15–6:30 p.m. and 6:45–8:00 p.m.
Junior High Program Grades 7 and 8

Option I: On-Site Faith Formation Classes

Our Junior High Faith Formation program meets on Wednesdays from 6:45–8:00 p.m.Students participate in a combination of large group gatherings and small group discussions. Our curriculum includes YDisciple, which helps students explore their faith through engaging lessons, discussion, prayer, and opportunities to connect faith to everyday life.

Option II: FAITH — Faith Alive in the Home
FAITH is our home study Faith Formation option for elementary and junior high students. Parents may choose this option to guide their child’s faith formation at home.

Families are provided with Finding God by Loyola Press books to support lessons, prayer, and faith discussions throughout the year. Please note: Students enrolled in a sacrament year are required to attend on-site classes.

High School Program  
OneWith, meets on Sunday evenings from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. for grades 9-11. OneWith combines small discipleship groups, large group activities, and liturgy-focused Mass nights. These blend to form an experience-based program that delves deeper into the core components of our faith. OneWith meets 2-3 times per month, with one session a month being a teaching Mass. The OneWith program also includes a retreat each year for the students, which they attend with their same OneWith small group. These further delve into discipleship, faith engagement, and (for the later grades) Confirmation topics as well. Please note, there are additional retreat fees for grades 9-11.

Parish policy note: Sacrament Registration Information: Students must be enrolled in Faith Formation classes the year PRIOR to and the year of receiving a Sacrament. In addition, students must attend classes onsite the year of celebrating a sacrament or be enrolled in an accredited Catholic School.

Confirmation: Confirmation preparation begins in 10th grade. Students should enroll in OneWith grade 10 and Confirmation I. Students in 11th grade should enroll in OneWith grade 11 and Confirmation II. Confirmation is celebrated in the spring of 11th grade.
