“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.”
– Proverbs 19:17
Kathy, John, and Emma Dalton serve in the CROSS Delivery Ministry, picking up food and household donations from SJTW and bringing it over to CROSS Services in Rogers, which serves families in need, providing essential food, clothing, and financial support. Thanks to the CROSS Delivery Ministry, donations are delivered more quickly and efficiently, offering timely assistance to those who rely on CROSS Services for a helping hand.
The family became a part of the CROSS Delivery ministry after seeing the need mentioned in the SJTW bulletin. Being that Emma was still in school, the ministry’s flexibility worked well for John and Kathy.
“As part of our Catholic faith, we value giving a helping hand to the those in need in our community.” Being a part of the ministry has also become a fun family activity for the Daltons, with Emma out of school and John retired. Some of their favorite memories include seeing a full donation bin at church because of parishioners’ generosity.
SJTW has a CROSS collection bin conveniently located in the Faith Formation gathering space across from the Knights of Columbus display. Feel free to drop off non-perishable food items anytime – every can or box helps! If you prefer a monetary donation, MN FoodShare will match a portion of all food and financial donations made to CROSS between March 1st and April 6th. To make a donation, visit crossservices.org/donations.
