"It is more blessed to give than to receive.” – Acts 20:35
If you’ve ever tasted one of Fr. Mike’s famous jams, chances are Rachel Fuss had a hand in making it. Rachel has been a part of Fr. Mike’s jam making since 2023. Working with other Lady Knights, they help Monday mornings during the summer, measuring, cleaning and filling jars, and labeling to sell at the Lady Knights Craft Sale each November.
From being in the 8:30 choir since 1980, to being a committee member of the Holiday Tea since 2010, Rachel is no stranger to ministries at SJTW! Over the years, she’s created countless memories, but one of her favorites comes from the time with Fr. Mike and the WCCO interview last summer. “It’s been a joy to experience another side of Fr. Mike by assisting with this ministry,” she shares.
While the jam-making is led by the Lady Knights, it’s truly a community effort. You can take part by purchasing Fr. Mike's jam and returning the empty jars to the designated spot in the Work Room. Every small action adds up to something sweet—both literally and spiritually!
Much of the fruit comes from our partner, CROSS Services. By passing the fruit to Fr. Mike's Jam Ministry, much of the fruit used would otherwise be thrown away, but instead, it’s turned into something meaningful. And every dollar raised from jam sales goes right back to support those in need in our community!
