“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13
For the sick, elderly, homebound, or those unable to attend in person due to distance or other circumstances, live streaming Mass is a vital way to stay connected to faith and parish community. It allows individuals to participate in the Eucharistic celebration, hear the Word of God, and remain united with the parish family—offering spiritual nourishment, comfort, and a sense of belonging to those who might otherwise feel isolated.
Dan Broten plays a key role in the Live Stream Ministry, ensuring that Masses are streamed on YouTube for parishioners to watch from home. You may have noticed him behind the sound board at Mass, quietly ensuring everything runs smoothly. In addition to live streaming, Dan also operates the projector and sound board and serves as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
For Dan, live streaming has deepened his attentiveness to the Mass, daily readings, and liturgical seasons, strengthening his awareness that “Christ is present.” Beyond Sunday liturgies, he has also gained a greater appreciation for the Sacraments of Baptism and First Communion.
SJTW is always looking for additional ministers to assist in this important ministry. If you’re interested in joining, contact the parish office. Dan encourages stopping by during a live stream or watching past recordings on our YouTube page. “There is good training, and it is not very difficult,” he assures.
