"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace”
– 1 Peter 4:10
Your Commitment to Parish Life helps our campus landscape flourish.
Anna Mau is part of the SJTW Garden Ministry, started 28 years ago when the front church entrance had nothing but dead grass and a broken bench. She started coming to church as part of the Moms’ Group and various other ministries, and after becoming a professional gardener, started the St. Joe’s Garden Club (now the Garden Ministry) and it bloomed from there!
“It amazes me how willing people have been to help with this hard-working ministry. Joy and inspiration is why we grow. As Garden Ministers we are inspired by each other, making our labor joyful and most importantly, bring joy and inspiration to all of you!” Anna says.
“The beautiful gardens and the loving relationships have strengthened my faith in God. Even though our flowers fade, the joy they bring to all who appreciate them makes this Ministry something special.” Her involvement in the Garden Ministry fills her with the Holy Spirit and strengthens her faith, “that God encourages us to share our talents which in return inspire those like us (who love to garden).”
The Garden Ministry warmly welcomes new members and those looking to help. “Gardening and landscaping is hard work, but you know the saying...many hands...and bring your kids!” Anna says. There’s no set schedule; “Always know that if you truly want to help, carve out an hour and we will gladly assign you a garden task and train you also if needed.”
