Recently one family gave me the opportunity to lift their infant car seat. They are greatly superior to the old ones, and they never even existed when I was a kid. They feel like they provide a much greater security than anything prior to their creation. I admire families who plan that safety feature for their children. It certainly reminded me of how so many things are new and improved today, and the commitment to keeping ourselves up to date with things. The church has many similarities. The lighting for church has gone from high voltage, to good electrical consumption to LED lights that are cool and save money. But to install them requires new fixtures. They cost money. Our challenge as a parish is to stay ahead of costs by having a piggy bank of reserves to keep fixing and replacing. That is where CPL or Commitment to Parish Life comes in. We depend upon having enough money in the bank to pay to have snow plowed, lights replaced in the church, air conditioning fixed or replaced. We depend upon you to make that happen. Can we count on you to keep our piggy bank afloat? Fr. Mike
