15 year old sophomore parishioner, Isabelle Overman was nominated as as one of only 8 high school students in the state of Minnesota and has been running in the Student Visionary of the Year competition.
Isabelle and her family (parents Lisa & Brandon, and three sisters, Adelyn, Eleanor & Josephine) have been members of our parish for nearly 20 years and the girls are all life-long members. Isabelle’s faith and conviction to make a difference inspired her to accept the nomination to become a Student Visionary.
Isabelle has known that she wanted to make a difference for a while, and realized the Student Visionary Campaign the was the way to do that, “When I was in 3rd grade I saw first-hand the impact of cancer for the person with the disease and their family. My best friend’s sister was diagnosed and went through treatment. By God’s healing hand and advances in treatment she is now more than 5 years cancer free. When I saw what she went through during treatment and also the impact it had on my friend, I knew I needed to do what I could to make a difference. My great-grandma also fought lymphoma twice and I wanted to run this campaign with the same strength and drive that she battled with.”
