Years ago, in another parish the school held a fall festival weekend. There were all kinds of kid's games, adult games, and good food. After all expenses were paid the festival would raise about $75,000 each year. One year it rained all 3 days. Not only did they not raise money, it costs them for the food that was unsold and the prizes which were not given away. I asked the school board how they were going to raise that money since it was necessary to balance the budget. Although they said they would think of something, they didn’t. That year the parish went into debt about $90,000. We are coming to the end of our fiscal year, and we are below budget. Not $90,000, but significantly below what we anticipated. We need to fix the driveways and parking lot holes this summer. We need to replace the retaining wall behind the education wing that is collapsing. We also need to replace over a dozen shrubs and trees the rabbits killed this past winter. I would appreciate your help in making up some of the loss we are experiencing this year and for the necessary expenditures we will be having this summer. Just as you need to continually fix and repair things around your house, so the church needs to fix the things around our “home”. Thank you for showing how grateful you are to God that He has brought you to this parish. I know I appreciate God bringing you to us. Fr. Mike
