With my older siblings being married there was the constant tussle as to who’s house they would go to for Christmas and Easter. We settled that by having our family gathering at Thanksgiving time. When I came to St. Joe’s we moved the Thanksgiving celebration to the rectory here. As my older relatives died, the group that would gather at my house on Thanksgiving felt they needed to change because the atmosphere was different with the older folks missing. We moved our gathering to the 4th of July at my niece’s house. We did that for many years and just before COVID we began to move to various siblings homes and the date fl uctuated also. Where and when our families gather can move around to accommodate the needs. The important thing to remember is the family gathering. I pray your Thanksgiving celebration brings you happy memories and the realization it is the people in our lives that is the greatest thing. You are my family and I love you all.
