During this final week of Lent we see clearly how Jesus humbles himself to the will of the Father. He does not lash out in anger but meekly accepts the cross. How sharply that contrasts with our society today. One of the difficulties with exalting ourselves is that once we do that we need to do it more often and more strongly. If, instead, we acknowledged that everything I have, talents, family and friends, even possessions all come as gift from God, the easier it is to give God thanks. We use your talents and gifts to further our family and ourselves in society. Yet, when do we turn back to God to give thanks for these gifts? In our Commitment to Parish Live we give to this faith community we give our best to the people and God. In return we receive so much more back. Thank you for the giving of your time and talents in all of our ministries. We need your financial gift also as that is where the money comes from to make all of the ministries we offer in the parish successful. Do you give as much as you believe is just in thanksgiving to God for the gifts you have already been given?
