As the readings reflect from the Gospel of Mark, Jesus was all about physical connection. Despite the virus as it runs around our state and takes it toll on people, I cannot express how glad I am to see you coming to church and attending to neighbors that you have been. Our parish has been known as a welcoming parish and you are a huge part of that. Bringing your children to church even when it is not what we have grown to expect is wonderful. I see many of you bringing young children, teenagers, and even adult children who are not in residence at a college to church. The life and vitality your family brings to our worship extends to everyone who is present. The other week I said at Mass how delighted I am to hear the sound of young children in our space. Several stopped afterwards to tell me how important it is for them to hear your children as well. Several times I have asked young children if they are hugging their mom and dad. They all smile and nod their heads vigorously. So thank you for making your family a domestic church. Thank you for bringing that connection to our regular worship. Thank for you bringing your children and sitting in the parking lot. You are the reason our church is known for the welcome we extend to all people. We have people from all over the world. There are folks who are young and others who are more seasoned. We have single, married, widowed and couple who are living together. You welcome everyone. You make your commitment to our parish known by your actions. Thank you for taking up your Commitment to Parish Life. Fr. Mike
