Pack With Purpose

“We all have the duty to do good.” – Pope Francis

Ministry volunteer George Marx is a proud participant of Pack with Purpose (PWP), a SJTW ministry that helps serve organizations in the community. Volunteers pack needed items in a kit, and a representative from that night’s organization comes to speak about what they’re packing and why it’s needed. 

For George, Pack with Purpose has opened his eyes to the needs of the community. “Pack With Purpose has brought to my attention how many more people and organizations are out there that need our support. It reminds me of how fortunate I have been and how to reach out and help. It fits with our "Be the Change, Be Christ" mission statement.”  

He enjoys listening to the stories of each group, and it calls him to want to do more, bringing his relationship with God more front and center. George states, “It definitely has broadened my picture of how many different people and organizations need our help, and how many wonderful people there are to help.  It reminds me of how much we need to give of our time and resources.” 

George recommends people to get involved, no matter who the organization is. “The reward by far outdoes the time, work, and money that PWP brings to others... Pack with Purpose has helped me get out of my comfort zone to do more things for others and for that I am grateful.”
